    Day E

    Main Office

    The last group of grad photo proofs arrived and are available for pick up at the office.

     

    Parent/Teacher forms were issued on March 13th and can be returned to the main office at any time. Parent/Teacher interview days are April 9th from 7:00-9:00 pm and April 10th from 1:00-3:30 pm.

     

    Student Services

    The Rotary Club of Wolfville-Acadia University Award valued at $2000 will be awarded to a student who is a graduate from the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board, and who is entering the first year of a degree or certificate program at Acadia University. The eligible student must possess an outstanding high school academic record and demonstrate a "Rotary Spirit" via evidence of community service and/or leadership initiatives that have positively affected the quality of life of others. Preference will be given to students who exhibit financial need.
     

    More information is available on the Student Services website and at Acadia’s financial aid website.
     

    The Buddy Daye Scholarship ($500) is available to African Nova Scotians 14-24 years of age (Deadline April 30th). Additional information can be found on the student services website.

    The Donald Lee Eagles Memorial Scholarship ($2,500) is available to students pursuing Business Administration studies at the Kingstec Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College (Deadline May 18th). Additional information can be found on the student services website.

    The award is provided by The Rotary Club of Wolfville in partnership with Acadia University to ensure that outstanding local candidates have an opportunity to attend university.  Deadline is April 10, 2015.  Applications can be faxed or emailed.

    Acadia Entrance Scholarships

     

    Just a reminder, that the deadline for the KARes scholarship is March 31, 2015.  This is
    an opportunity for a student from each school board to earn a $15,000 scholarship ($5,000
    dollars a year for three years).  Details may be found on the website under Scholarships.

     

     

    There will be a special workshop in Ms. MacKenzie's room Wed, April 1st at lunch and
    after school.  The workshop is around film making from script to camera and is being
    facilitated by the Annapolis Valley Gender & Sexuality Alliance Video Project (AVGSAVP). 
    All are welcome :)

     

    DELF

    There will be important information Sessions for all DELF candidates today, and
    Monday, Wednesday and Friday Next week.  All candidates should feel free to drop by any
    time if they would like sample exercises

     

    Prom

    There will be a prom committee meeting Friday at quiet bell in Ms. Rogers’ room (223).

     

    Stage Band

    Stage Band will rehearse today at the beginning of lunch in the Band Room.

     

     

     

    Leadership & WE ACT Groups

    The AVHS WE ACT and AVHS Leadership groups will be hosting a Spring Tea on Saturday,
    May 23, 2015.  We invite and encourage all members of the greater Windsor area to join
    us for some light refreshments from 1:00-3:00 pm at Avon View High School.  All proceeds
    will be going towards local and global initiatives.

     

    Sports

    Practice for all Boys Rugby players, Today (Friday) from 3:30-5:30 in the gym. It is not too late to join, new players needed.

     

    Youth Health Centre

    The cafeteria transformation meeting is today at lunch.
