The AV student council is starting a food drive for our local food bank. Help those in need this holiday season by making a donation of a food item. Donations can be made in the lobby or in Mrs. Chances’ room. Your donation can make a difference!
Get into the spirit of giving! Need a gift for that special someone- sometimes the best gift is no gift at all. Make a donation on behalf of someone you care about and give them a gift certificate telling them that you made a difference on their behalf, or check out our yeti hats and rafiki bracelets at recess and lunch in the foyer. Get involved!
Ballots will be given to any students who return overdue books to the Library before Christmas Break. One ballot for each book returned will go in for the draw on December 19th. There will be two draws, one for a female student, and one for a male student. Good Luck and bring my children home.
There is a free boardgame night being held downstairs in room one at the Hants County War Memorial Community Center on Monday, December, 16th, 2013. Ages 12 and up are invited to attend, the games are provided along with volunteers to teach the games. There is a game giveaway each night, there is no registration required. While this event will be appropriate for children as young as 12, adults of all ages are welcome to participate.
Games include: Spot it!, Ticket to Ride, Love letter, Forbidden Island, Carcassonne and many more. None of these games take longer than an hour to teach and then play. Some are fifteen minutes!
If this is successful I will continue to organize this event on Monday nights starting on January, 6th, 2014 in the new year. More information is available on www.meetup.com/valley-game-night
