WHEC accepts students between the ages of 15 and 18 (eligible for grade 10 or higher)
from the West Hants area. They are currently seeking applications for the 2013-2014
school year. Please come to Student Services to sign up on the list to get more info.
Saint Mary's University - Saint Mary's University is offering a summer writing workshop August 15 and 16, 2013. This workshop will assist with writing at the university level. Cost is $175. Please register by August 7, 2013. More information is available at Student Services.
Potential Grad List - Grade 12's who are on the potential graduation list, please check out the list on the wall outside Student Services. Please check the correct spelling of your name, indicate what scholarships you have received in order that this may be announced at graduation ceremonies, and indicate if you are receiving a certificate, for example an Art Certificate, Business Ed Certificate, French Immersion Certificate etc.
***Bursary applications from the Royal Canadian Legion Hants Co. Branch 009 are now
available at Student Services. To be eligible you must be a resident of West Hants
during your last high school year; be a son, daughter, grandchild of a veteran; be
accepted at a post-secondary institution; be a deserving candidate and be in financial
need. Completed applications are to be handed in the Student Services by June 3.
***The Trappers Association of Nova Scotia is pleased to present the Marion Sweet Memorial Bursary for $500.00. More information can be found on the AVHS website or at Student Services. Applications must be received by June 10.
Volunteer - Any student who would like to volunteer at this summers Maritime Centre for African Dance Camp in Windsor July 2-5, can stop by at Student Services for more detail.
